Our Story

The Closet That Could.
And Did.

In 2006, in my second year of teaching at my alma mater, I pioneered the Green Devil’s Pantry & Closet. With a $500 grant, I bought clothes racks and hangers so teens could get gently loved tuxes and dress for Homecoming and Prom, perhaps work interview clothes. From that grew something much bigger and brighter. With the help of my Closeteers, we have helped thousands of children and families with food, hygiene and cleaning items, undergarments, socks, tickets to dances and more.. A Closeteer is an alum, community member, an anonymous, volunteer, bride, corporation, maybe even you. Someone who gives back because my tagline is “Promoting Dignity. Modeling Benevolence.”

For years, I have dreamed of helping many schools and their families. My muse finally whispered it was time and here I am. Here we are.

The name and logo are meaningful: Forever Rely On God.
My mentor once telling me: “Do not let anyone ever steal your sunshine.”

People want to help and people need help. Your rays of sunshine will brighten the lives who are might best at hiding their weariness. It could be a colleague, a parent who is barely making it, a child who needs new shoes, a classroom teacher with the perfect idea. Your donations will be directed as you choose and are tax deductible.

Please Share Your Sunshine, sunshine.
